Integration · CAB Plan

Damage inspections, now booked by phone too.
Straight into CAB Plan.

Insurers book through DIB and car owners book online. The phone was the one channel left out. Sono answers your damage-inspection line, identifies the car from its registration number, offers live slots from CAB Plan Damage Booking and books the inspection the moment the caller confirms.

Built on Sono's automotive phone assistant, or browse all Sono integrations.

The gap

Every booking channel lands in CAB Plan.
Except the phone.

Many car owners still call. And they call when everyone in the workshop has their hands full, or after the doors have closed. Some call back later. Some call the next workshop.

Without the integration

"Hang on, let me find a pen. What was the registration again?"

  • —Someone stops a job, walks to a screen and types the booking in by hand.
  • —Calls at rush hour and after closing go unanswered.
  • —Plates, insurers and claim numbers are misheard and re-asked.
  • —Nothing is recorded, so the morning shift starts with voicemails.

Sono × CAB Plan

"Your VW Golf, inspection at the Espoo body shop on Thursday at nine. Shall I book that?"

  • →Every call answered, including rush hour, evenings and weekends.
  • →The car is identified from the plate, so the caller is never asked what CAB already knows.
  • →Live slots from your own damage-inspection calendar, booked on confirmation.
  • →The booking lands in CAB Plan and the caller gets an SMS confirmation.

How it works

From ringing phone to
booked inspection

Sono connects to CAB Plan Damage Booking through CAB Group's API. The booking it creates is the same booking an insurer or an online customer would make.

Step 01

The call is answered

Sono picks up on the first ring, asks what happened and works out whether it's a damage inspection, a glass job, a tow or something else.

Step 02

The car is identified

The caller says the registration number. Sono reads it back phonetically, confirms it and fetches make, model and year from CAB.

Step 03

Workshop and time

Only service points that inspect that make are offered. Free slots come live from CAB Plan: first the day, then the time.

Step 04

Booked in CAB Plan

Sono reads the whole booking back, books it once the caller confirms, and sends an SMS with the workshop, address and time.

What it handles

Built for the way
damage calls actually go

Every detail below runs in production on a live damage-inspection line, not in a demo.

Plate read-back & vehicle lookup

Finnish and Swedish plate formats, read back with the phonetic alphabet before the lookup. If the car isn't found, Sono asks for the make and year instead.

The right workshop for the make

Service points are filtered by the brands they inspect, so a caller is never booked into a workshop that can't take their car.

Live slots, no double bookings

Times come straight from the damage-inspection calendar. If a slot is taken mid-call, Sono offers the next one instead of confirming something that doesn't exist.

Insurer and claim number

Sono records the insurer, recognising local insurers by name, and whether the caller already has a claim number, and reminds them it's needed at the inspection.

Glass, towing and service routed

A cracked windscreen goes to the glass line, an undrivable car to towing, scheduled service to the service desk. You decide the destinations.

No caller lost

If a system doesn't answer, the caller never hears about it. Sono collects the details and passes them to your team, so the booking is still made.

What happened on a live line

A large Nordic car dealer group with locations in several cities put the assistant on its damage-inspection line and ran it on real customer traffic.

Where the line sits

About one call in five goes to a person. By design.

Your workshop decides where the line sits. Complex cases, unhappy customers and anything out of the ordinary belong with a person. The assistant doesn't promise repair dates or prices either; those are agreed at the inspection.

Booked

Body damage such as scrapes, dents and minor collisions, booked straight into CAB Plan with an SMS confirmation.

Routed

Windscreen and glass to the glass line, an undrivable car to towing, scheduled service to the service desk. Optionally an SMS link for sending photos of the damage.

To a person

A caller who asks for a human, an upset customer, anything unusual. Transferred, or sent your contact numbers by SMS.

FAQ

Frequently asked
questions

It lets Sono's voice assistant book damage inspections straight into CAB Plan Damage Booking over the phone. The assistant answers the call, asks what happened, identifies the car from its registration number, offers free slots from the workshop's damage-inspection calendar and creates the booking once the caller confirms. The caller gets an SMS confirmation, and the booking appears in CAB Plan like any booking made by an insurer or online.

Workshops and dealers that use CAB Plan Damage Booking for damage inspections. The integration is already built and in production, so a new workshop is set up through configuration rather than a development project.

No. Phone bookings land in the same calendar insurers already book into through DIB, and your workshop still decides which times are bookable. The phone simply becomes one more booking channel next to DIB and online booking.

No. Free times are read live from CAB Plan during the call. If a slot is taken by someone else between offering it and booking it, Sono tells the caller and offers another time rather than confirming a booking that doesn't exist.

The caller says the registration number. Sono reads it back with the phonetic alphabet to confirm it, then fetches make, model and year from CAB. If the car isn't found, Sono asks for the make and year instead. Only service points that inspect that make are offered.

Sono works out what the caller needs before booking anything. A cracked windscreen can go to your glass line, an undrivable car to towing and scheduled service to the service desk. You decide the destinations. A caller who asks for a person is transferred or sent your contact numbers by SMS.

The caller never hears about technical problems. Sono collects the details it still needs (registration number, vehicle, preferred workshop and time, contact details) and passes them to your team, so the customer isn't lost.

Yes. The assistant says so at the start of the call, and the caller can ask for a person at any point. Calls are recorded and transcribed, and every recording, transcript and summary is available in the Sono dashboard.

Finnish, Swedish and English out of the box. The assistant switches language when the caller asks and stays in it. Finnish and Swedish registration numbers and local insurers are recognised by name.

No. It books the inspection. Where the repair is done, what it costs and when it can start are agreed at the inspection, which is also what the assistant tells callers who ask.

The integration is built on CAB Group's API in cooperation with CAB Group and has been in production on a live damage-inspection line since spring 2026. CAB Plan and CABAS are trademarks of CAB Group AB; Sono is an independent product.
